Skip's Bio
I
grew up in Longview, Texas and would have
graduated Pine
Tree High School in 1977, but joined the Air Force
instead in ‘76. These were tumultuous times as our country was in
the midst of a cultural revolution. A large portion of our society
rebelled against the establishment and just did their own thing of
which I was a part. In 1974 I made the poor decisions of youth that
set my course on a lifestyle of overt rebellion towards society and
God. I became antagonist towards God and found great pleasure in
being hateful to those who called themselves Christians. This went
on until one fateful February evening in 1992, when I gave in to the
tender persistent drawing of The Holy Spirit and accepted Jesus
Christ as my savior.
The Lord has blessed me in every way. He has given me life eternal,
a loving wife and ministry partner, three wonderful children and two
beautiful grandkids. In 2002 God placed my wife and I in ministry to
which we have been faithful. Everyday I am allowed to live out my
dream by serving the flock as Pastor of Lake Deerwood Fellowship.
