Why Would God Send People to Hell?
What is Hell?
- The Bible uses a host of
metaphors in describing hell. To summarize them, hell is a place apart from
God. It’s a place you don’t want to be.
- Hell is everything that is
opposite of what God wants for humanity.
- If Jesus was willing to die
to keep us from Hell it must frightening place.
- Hell was not made for humans
but rather for Satan.
”Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed,
into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels'." Matthew 25:41
If Hell is So Bad Why Would God Send People There?
- The truth is people put
themselves in Hell not God.
”He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come
to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
”’Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked?’ declares the Sovereign
LORD . ‘Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?’”
Ezekiel 18:23
- In fact the gates of hell are
locked from the inside. To get in you have to want to get there by not
accepting the gift of salvation from Jesus.
